Get started with machine knitting in this fun and beginner-friendly workshop where you'll create your very own Pom Pom Neck Warmer! Perfect for first-timers, this hands-on session introduces the basics of using a domestic knitting machine while guiding you through the steps to complete a cosy, wearable piece—finished off with playful handmade pom poms.
Led by Lorena of Loré Loré, you’ll learn how to cast on and off, experiment with colour striping or texture, shape and finish your piece, and make and attach pom poms to complete your design. Along the way, you’ll build confidence with the foundations of machine knitting and get familiar with the rhythm and flow of this satisfying craft.
You’ll leave the session with your very own handmade Pom Pom Neck Warmer, crafted by you, as well as the knowledge and skills to continue exploring machine knitting. All yarn and machine use is included, and you'll be supported throughout by an experienced knitwear designer in a friendly, welcoming setting.
We’re excited to bring this workshop to the southside—debuting at Prahran Place! It’s the perfect introduction for anyone curious about machine knitting and keen to walk away with a finished piece made by hand (and machine!).
“This taster workshop is the perfect way to jump straight onto the machine and start exploring essential techniques that form the foundation of machine knitting. Everything you learn can be applied across different machine models, giving you the confidence to continue experimenting and creating at home.”
