Make Something Worth Keeping

There's something genuinely surprising about sitting down at a knitting machine for the first time. It's hands-on, it's social, and by the end of three hours your group will have made something real.

Loré Loré's private group workshops are designed for people who have never touched a knitting machine before. Lorena brings everything to you, including machines, materials, and 15 years of making, and guides your group through the skills needed to knit and finish a wearable piece from scratch. Whether you're celebrating with friends, looking for something memorable for a work event, or simply want an afternoon that leaves everyone with something handmade, this is a workshop worth gathering for.

All workshops run for 3 hours and are available across Melbourne. If you're based in outer metropolitan Melbourne, mention it in your inquiry and we'll let you know what's possible.

Three projects, all beginner-friendly, each designed to get you onto the machine and working through a real process from start to finish. Pick the one that appeals and we'll take care of the rest.

Knitted Headband Workshop

    Maximum 6 Participants
    Saturday & Sunday Bookings
    3hrs
    No Experience Required

Ever wondered what it feels like to knit on a machine? This is your chance to find out. In this hands-on workshop, you'll get straight onto a knitting machine and learn a handful of key techniques, including how to work with two colours to create a classic two-tone pattern. No experience needed, and no prior creative background required. By the end of the session you'll have learned how to take a piece from machine to finished item, and you'll be heading home with a handknitted headband made entirely by you.

Colourful knitted neck shawl scarf adorned with playful pom poms, showcasing a blend of vibrant hues and cosy texture. This piece highlights the creative potential of machine knitting workshops.

    Saturday & Sunday Bookings
    3hrs
    No Experience Required

Long, elegant and made to be worn more than one way. The two-tone tapered scarf is one of the most satisfying things you'll make on a knitting machine for the first time. This workshop takes you through the full process: getting to know the machine, knitting the body of the scarf in two colours, shaping the tapered ends by hand, and finishing with optional pom pom tips if you want them. Each step builds on the last, giving you a real foundation in machine knitting and the hand-finishing skills that turn knitted fabric into a wearable piece. No experience necessary. You'll leave with something worth wearing and the know-how to understand how it was made.

Knitted Scrunchies Workshop
  • $ 95 pp
    Maximum 6 Participants
    Saturday & Sunday Bookings
    3hrs
    No Experience Required

It's smaller than a scarf and more satisfying than you'd expect. In this workshop you'll be introduced to the knitting machine and guided through the techniques needed to knit and finish your very own scrunchie from scratch. The process covers more than just the knitting. You'll also learn the hand-finishing steps that bring the piece together, which is a skill in itself. No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity, and leave with something handmade, wearable, and genuinely yours.
