Ready to go further on the machine?
Spend the day with Lorena of Loré Loré at Thread Den in Fitzroy, working through the patterning techniques that open up what machine knitting can really do. This 6-hour workshop builds on foundational skills and moves into more creative territory, with everything coming together in your own handmade knitted purse.
Over the course of the day you'll explore weave in, slip stitch, partial knitting, long stitch and roulo (i-cord), experimenting with different yarns to build texture and pattern. To finish your purse you'll hand seam, attach your strap and work in your ends.
All machines and yarn are provided. This workshop is best suited to those who have completed our Beginner Beanie Workshop or the 3-hour Taster, or who already have some foundational machine knitting skills.
"This is where machine knitting starts to get really interesting. Once you move into patterning you begin to see how much range the machine has, and the purse gives you a practical way to apply everything you've learned."
